We're happy to introduce you to the CID school serving deaf and hard of hearing children from birth through age 12. If you have a hearing-impaired child, you're in the right place. We're here to help your child acquire the skills it will take to communicate and succeed in a mainstream classroom.
Our staff of highly skilled teachers is committed to going the extra mile to provide a flexible educational program that meets the individual needs of deaf children and their families. In our specially designed, award-winning “quiet school,” we provide warmth, caring and tremendous expertise, based on many years of teaching deaf children to listen and talk. Our methods combine those developed at CID with the latest curricula from mainstream education.
Our teachers, speech therapists and onsite pediatric audiologists specialize in working with children with both cochlear implants and digital hearing aids. Our goal is mainstreaming, whenever the child is ready. We have programs to prepare the child, the family and the receiving school.
I invite you to visit CID for a tour and an evaluation. If your family lives far away, we offer a full-day observation session that includes overnight accommodations. Financial aid, relocation assistance and diagnostic placements are other ways we help families help their deaf and hard of hearing children learn to listen, talk and succeed in the mainstream.
