TWO JOIN CID BOARD OF DIRECTORS

ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI, April 25, 2008 – CID - Central Institute for the Deaf has named Elizabeth F. Dorr and Carrie L. Johnson to its board of directors. CID executive director Robin M. Feder, CFRE announced that each was voted in by the full board at its April 2008 meeting.  

Elizabeth F. Dorr is a community volunteer whose experience has included work with the Development Board of St. Louis Children’s Hospital, the St. Louis Board of The Women’s Exchange, COCA, Ranken Jordan, the Arthritis Foundation and the Siteman Cancer Center. She also has been actively involved with her children’s schools, serving as grade chairman, mentoring new families and helping with annual school auctions.  

Carrie L. Johnson is director of corporate and marketing communications for Graybar Electric Company, Inc. She oversees the internal communications, change management, employee development and workforce planning efforts for Graybar, one of the largest companies headquartered in St. Louis.

CID board of managers officers for 2008 are: Theodore M. Armstrong, president; Robert G. Clark, Thomas R. Jayne, Richard C. Jensen, Ralph W. Kalish, Jr., Joanne P. Knight, Timothy Koehl, Hugh Scott, III, William B. Sheldon, James M. Snowden, Jr., W. Bruce Springer and John D. Weil, vice presidents; Barbara B. Morriss, secretary; Amy R. Tighe and Robin M. Feder, assistant secretaries; C. Baker Cunningham, treasurer, and Tina L. Klocke, assistant treasurer. 

CID’s mission is to teach children who are deaf and hard of hearing to listen, talk, read and succeed. We partner with families and collaborate with universities, educators and  other professionals worldwide to help children communicate to achieve their fullest potential.
