Extracurricular Opportunities

CID has an after school program that gives children opportunities to participate in a variety of activities throughout the community.

CID students also have opportunities for league sports with hearing children. This is considered a valuable experience for children with hearing loss preparing to participate in mainstream educational and social settings. The children learn to be team players and the games help them improve their confidence, social skills and athletic abilities.

Extracurricular offerings may include soccer and basketball coached by CID staff and parent volunteers. This year during gym class, tennis sessions are led by members of the Missouri Chapter of the U.S. Tennis Association..

CID offers before and after school care to help working families whose children attend CID.

For non-CID students who need remedial academic work, we offer an
after school tutoring program.

CID children have played with hearing children in the City of Olivette Boys Basketball League.
