If you’re a teacher or an SLP with a student who is deaf or hard of hearing, chances are you could benefit from an organized system to help you track development of syntax and use of English language structures. Such a system will make your life easier by providing a framework for your good teaching. It will enable you to determine present levels, write relevant IEP goals, focus language lessons and track and report progress. Any tool designed to help a teacher work on developing language requires some study and practice, but the CID TAGS: Teacher Assessment of Grammatical Structures (1-2-3) is the easiest system of its kind to use. The TAGS lets you focus cleanly on syntax, offering the most specific information available so you can effectively target your teaching no matter the skill level/s of the child/ren you serve. Learning the TAGS system has never been easier. This course starts with the basics, then helps you begin using this powerful tool.

- Describe how to collect and record student language samples
- Chart students’ language samples on the TAGS forms
- Outline the three steps necessary to use the TAGS to write effective IEP goals
