Behavior Specialist
CID – Central Institute for the Deaf is accepting applications for a full-time behavior specialist for the 2025-2026 school year to work directly with children ages 3 -12. The behavior specialist plays a vital role in supporting student behaviors to facilitate learning, providing both push-in and pull-out behavioral support to meet the individual needs of each child. The behavior specialist also performs a variety of activities to support teachers and staff in implementing instructional programs. The position begins immediately and will continue through May 29, 2026. The behavior specialist will also have the opportunity to work in our extended school year program, which runs from June 1st – June 26, 2026.
Qualified candidates will have:
- a BA or BS in Psychology, Education, Applied Behavior Analysis or a related field. Registered Behavior Technician credentials would be considered a plus.
- experience working with children ages 3 – 12 in a school or clinical setting.
- a strong understanding of behavior analysis principles and strategies.
- a genuine interest in serving the needs of students and the ability to operate within the philosophy of the program.
- excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- proficiency in data collection.
- the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
We offer a competitive rate of $20.00 – $28.00 per hour, commensurate with education and experience. Teacher Aide
CID – Central Institute for the Deaf is accepting applications for a full-time teacher aide for the 2025–2026 school year to work directly with children ages 3–12. The teacher aide assists classroom teachers to help a class and department run smoothly. The aide may provide supplementary instructional help as needed under the guidance of the teacher, prepare teaching materials and perform other administrative tasks to support teachers. This position works directly with students in gym class and our aftercare program between the hours of 9am and 5pm. The position begins immediately and will continue through May 29, 2026. The aide will also have the opportunity to work in our extended school year program, which runs June 1–June 26, 2026.
Qualified candidates:
- have experience working with young children,
- use effective behavior management strategies
- have a genuine interest in serving the needs of students and the ability to operate within the philosophy of the program
- have the physical ability to assist children ages 3–12
- have excellent verbal communication skills
- have strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- have strong organizational skills
- (preferably) have some college or advanced education

CID MARTHA E. JONES PEDIATRIC AUDIOLOGY CENTER
4th-Year Audiology Extern
The CID – Central Institute for the Deaf pediatric audiology program provides a full range of pediatric re/habilitative audiologic services. These include behavioral hearing evaluations, device evaluations (digital hearing aids, cochlear implants and FM systems) and programming, parent counseling and educational outreach. CID audiologists work closely with educators in the CID family center and school addressing the speech, language and hearing needs of children from birth to age 18.
Each year, we seek a fourth-year audiology extern to participate in all aspects of the audiology clinic. These include making and fitting earmolds, selecting and verifying hearing aids, programming and verifying cochlear implants for children, fitting FM systems and planning appropriate auditory training goals. Through observation and guided supervision, the extern helps counsel families about hearing loss, device options and the cochlear implantation process. Stipend available.
