Education Administrative Assistant

CID – Central Institute for the Deaf is accepting applications for an enthusiastic, motivated, team player to serve as an education administrative assistant in our school office.

The education administrative assistant provides essential administrative support to all school departments and the program evaluation department. This position supports the principal, ECC and Primary department coordinators, the director of program evaluation, and the finance department supervisor. This individual is responsible for the organization, coordination, and management of assigned school activities and staff and school certifications. The education administrative assistant manages communication with student and alumni families and collaborates with other school office staff to ensure that the needs of the students, families, visitors, and staff are met.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

  • Coordinates, organizes, and manages all school enrollment and alumni evaluation processes
  • Accurately maintains database systems and student records
  • Serves as a program information resource person and liaison to staff, families, school districts, and certification organizations, disseminating accurate and timely information
  • Formats, edits, and distributes educational reports
  • Coordinates hiring process and schedule for recreational aides
  • Coordinates volunteer program
  • Utilizes technology effectively and efficiently
  • Performs a variety of duties to assist the principal and coordinators in meeting the administrative needs of school programs

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, electronic files and databases Ability to learn and use new technology effectively
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage competing deadlines
  • Experience handling confidential information with discretion
  • Project management experience, preferred
  • School office experience, preferred

We offer a competitive rate of $21 – $30.00 per hour, commensurate with education and experience. Teacher Aide

CID – Central Institute for the Deaf is accepting applications for a full-time teacher aide for the 2025-2026 school year to work directly with children ages 3 -12. The teacher aide assists classroom teachers to help a class and department run smoothly. The aide may provide supplementary instructional help as needed under the guidance of the teacher, prepare teaching materials and perform other administrative tasks to support teachers. This position will work directly with students in gym class and our aftercare program between the hours of 9 AM – 5 PM. The position begins August 8, 2025 and will continue through May 29, 2026. The aide will also have the opportunity to work in our extended school year program, which runs from June 1st – June 26, 2026.

Qualified candidates will:

  • have experience working with young children,
  • utilize effective behavior management strategies
  • have a genuine interest in serving the needs of students and the ability to operate within the philosophy of the program
  • have the physical ability to assist children ages 3 -12
  • have excellent verbal communication skills
  • have strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • have strong organizational skills
  • preferably have some college or advanced education

CID MARTHA E. JONES PEDIATRIC AUDIOLOGY CENTER

4th-Year Audiology Extern

The CID – Central Institute for the Deaf pediatric audiology program provides a full range of pediatric re/habilitative audiologic services. These include behavioral hearing evaluations, device evaluations (digital hearing aids, cochlear implants and FM systems) and programming, parent counseling and educational outreach. CID audiologists work closely with educators in the CID family center and school addressing the speech, language and hearing needs of children from birth to age 18.

Each year, we seek a fourth-year audiology extern to participate in all aspects of the audiology clinic. These include making and fitting earmolds, selecting and verifying hearing aids, programming and verifying cochlear implants for children, fitting FM systems and planning appropriate auditory training goals. Through observation and guided supervision, the extern helps counsel families about hearing loss, device options and the cochlear implantation process. Stipend available.
