Summer Programs

Extended School Year Program

Our four-week extended school year summer program is open to CID students and other children ages 3–12 who are deaf and hard of hearing. The program is taught by experienced CID teachers. It features morning speech, language and academic instruction and engaging afternoon field trips to great places in St. Louis.

Each day is filled with fun listening, speaking and language-learning opportunities.

CID offers full scholarships to all children who are deaf and hard of hearing and eligible for this program. For more information, please contact Amy Hudson.

Summer Enrichment Camp Weeks

CID offers three week-long summer enrichment camp sessions in June for students with hearing loss ages 6–12 receiving minimal support in a general education setting. Participants enjoy reconnecting with old friends and making new ones while working together on theme-based projects. At the end of each week, campers share a culminating experience with their families, CID extended school year students and staff. Campers have said how nice it is to socialize with peers who understand what it’s like to be deaf or hard of hearing. Children who are deaf or hard of hearing receive 100% scholarship support. A limited number of siblings may also attend.

CID Teen Connection Camp Week

June 8-12, 2026

This fun-filled week of social connection, teamwork, leadership experience and career exploration is designed especially for teens. CID alumni and other teens with hearing loss from the community (ages 13-17) receive 100% scholarship support.
